Finding Peace on the Water

 

When a series of knee injuries sidelined Seth Blackamore and stripped him of a promising college football career, he knew it was time to put his competitive focus into something else. Collegiate football coach, professor, author, photographer: Seth has already done more than most will in a lifetime, but the majority of his time now is spent exploring and fishing the lakes and streams of the Eastern Sierra.

Seth grew up in Orange County, far from the peaceful waters around Bishop, but has spent his entire life in and around the water. Fishing was always a passion but today it’s a source of therapy, a way to escape, and the reason for a new life far from the one he had imagined. 

Seth is an enlightened gent for a man of his age. We caught up with him over his love of football, fishing, and how he found a new stride in Eastern SIerra.
